Afrikaner Barbarism the order of the day at DUT – 9 students set fire to security officer – Student grievances degenerate into lawlessness

Rebellious students from Durban University of Technology wreaks havoc at the Steve Biko campus during a violent demonstration. They insist that the current security company be replaced. Lectures are currently suspended and nearly 34,000 students are unable to attend lectures. During the riot, 9 students were arrested after gasoline was thrown over a security guard and he was set on fire.

During the riot, two waiting rooms and the interview room were destroyed, and the 27-year-old security officer sustained serious injuries. The latter was rescued after a close escape when his colleagues saw the attack and he was rushed to hospital. Nine students between 20 and 30 years were arrested. The provincial commissioner of police strongly condemned the incident, saying that the involved students is charged with attempted murder, malicious damage to property and public violence.

Not happy with your child’s matric results, well, there is some options!

If you’re one of those pupils who is either unhappy with the matric symbols you have attained or even if you have failed, don’t lose hope. You can take steps to improve your situation.

What then are your options? Here are a few:

You have passed matric but you haven’t achieved your desired results: You can apply for a remark if you think that you did better than what your results indicate, but ideally you should do this as soon as possible.

Another option is to register for supplementary exams to try to improve your symbols.

You have failed and want a second chance: The department of basic education offers a programme called Second Chance, which provides free support and enables you to write supplementary exams for a maximum of two subjects to meet the pass requirements of the national senior certificate (NSC) examinations.

EFF warns of ‘maximum’ ‘anarchy’ if government doesn’t scrap university registration fees – What arrogance coming from them, seems like they want everything in life for free!

The EFF Students Command (EFFSC) held a press conference on Monday at the party’s headquarters in Braamfontein where they listed a series of demands, including the shut down of the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS).

Other demands included that “no students must be turned back due to lack of space” and that “all certificates” withheld by tertiary institutions due to lack of payment be given to their “rightful owners”.

Keetse also said the control of the education system by “white monopoly capital” must be disrupted.

Keetse warned there would be chaos if the government refused to respond to their calls for fee-free registration at South African universities.

He said the organisation is awaiting a response from government.
