TAU SA now considers legal action to compel the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) to provide satisfactory answers to the prosecution of Black First Land First (BLF) leader Andile Mngxitama.
This comes more than a year after Mngxitama threatened and incited his followers to kill white women and children, the NPA still cannot give a clue as to whether he will be prosecuted for this.
In December 2018, Mngxitama spoke to a large audience in Potchefstroom, North West, and enticed them to kill five white people for every one black person killed. He continued to threaten women and children: “We will kill their children, we will kill their women, we will kill anything we find on our way”.
TAU SA lodged a complaint of hate speech against Mngxitama on December 11, 2018, with the police. Since then, TAU SA has repeatedly asked about the progress of the case, and thousands of people have also added their names to TAU SA’s petition on this.
