ABOVE THE LAW? #PoliceBrutality A man who had seen and confronted EMPD officers who drove the wrong way up a one way street, was targeted, abused and intimidated by a dozen Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) officers, with some very heavy handed treatment, even though he committed no crime!

Why were so many officers required and was it necessary to draw and point a weapon at an unarmed civilian on the ground, being held down by a handful of other officers, for a traffic violation which THEY, the EMPD committed?

WATCH | SAPS refuses to arrest drunk traffic cop after causing accident

WATCH this video of a metro cop allegedly under the influence of alcohol. He nearly crashed into a biker in Benoni and threatened to shoot the man while he was recording him.

The City of Ekurhuleni responded that the “incident has been brought to the attention of the EMPD, who will immediately attend to the matter.”

Bystanders demanded that the officer be tested.

In the video clip, the officer is being led away while the person. Recording says, “Your gun is falling of, please take that firearm away before we all get shot by accident.”

He then adds that there’s alcohol in the vehicle as well, while another person can be heard saying that officers threatened bystanders.

This is no small change – Bedfordview Licensing Station employee arrested for for fraudulently registering vehicles to the value of R1.2-million

A Bedfordview Licensing Department employee was arrested on July 9 for fraudulently registering vehicles to the value of R1.2-million.

EMPD spokesperson Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago said the EMPD Community Liaison and Monitoring and Evaluation Unit members had been investigating the 28-year-old man for a while before he was arrested.

He said the man registered five vehicles belonging to a bank in the name of a private individual.

“The total value of the vehicles is over R1.2-m.

“One of the vehicles is a Ford Ranger, which has been traced to Zimbabwe and exported without following procedure,” said Kgasago.

Kgasago said that two clients have registered different cases at Bedfordview Police Station against the man.

“Investigations further revealed that all the five vehicles’ files had important documents missing, with two of the illegal registrations made from stolen face-value documents,” said Kgasago.
