If You’re White, You’re Out! Barloworld Defends & Continues its Systemically Racist Lay Off Programme!

Black Monopoly Capital: Encouraged by racist courts, Barloworld is continuing to lay off staff simply because they are white, while Solidarity vows to intensify legal action after bringing an urgent application against Barloworld Equipment in the Labour Court, to challenge Barloworld’s consultation process during its recent race based retrenchment process.

According to Solidarity, Barloworld which manages brands like Avis, Caterpillar, Perkins, CAT, Timber24, etc., did not consult properly regarding the selection criteria used in order to decide which of its employees would be retrenched, because the selection criteria for retrenchments include, among other things, retrenchments based on race.

Solidarity to Oppose The Racist Plunder & Consumption of Barloworld Which is Sacrificing Itself to Black Supremacy!

Killing The Golden Goose: The Solidarity trade union is going to take Barloworld to court because Barloworld has embarked on a destructive retrenchment process based on racial discrimination. Yes, it means that white people will be selected to be retrenched first, even if they have more years service than black employees. This is willful destruction of a corporation and selective slaughter of loyal employees based on race.

It is unbelievable that such discrimination and such a heartless onslaught against white people have become so commonplace. To make matters worse, this decision was taken by black directors, and their white liberal fellow directors, without them blinking an eye. Clearly, white lives don’t matter to them. It is also clear there is a concerted campaign to destroy so called White Monopoly Capital (WMC), and suck it dry for every penny they can before letting it fold, destroying the livelihoods of thousands, blacks included, in the process.

Poor economic conditions in SA cause job losses

With the latest announcement from Telkom regarding the retrenchment of nearly 3,000 employees, the mining industry has also warned that they will be following the same route.

Glencore and Merafe are also retrenching due to the poor economy and the extremely expensive electricity.

Unconfirmed reports indicate that about 1,000 jobs have been compromised, of which 660 are at the Rustenburg plant.

The announcement makes the list of larger institutions starting retrenchments longer, and financial experts say it is the beginning of an ever-growing list, which could cause an alarmingly high unemployment rate.

The retrenchments are directly linked to the decline in business due to the poor economic situation in which South Africa finds itself, and the poor power supply is also directly linked to the situation.

R23 Million for Telkom CEO, R100 million for executive team but 3000 employees are retrenches due to lack of finance

Trade union Solidarity has launched an attack on Telkom for planning to fire 3,000 employees after paying its executive team more than R100 million.

Telkom recently announced that it is planning to cut as many as 3,000 jobs across the company and has served unions with letters regarding the Section 189 process.

“Telkom will continue to consult with the unions, and it is our hope that through considered engagement with the unions, we will come to a mutually beneficial solution,” the company said.

This announcement did not go down well with unions, with the Communications Workers Union (CWU) vowing to fight the planned job cuts.

Solidarity has now joined the CWU in condemning the planned job cuts, saying it has requested a moratorium on Telkom retrenchments.

3000 Telkom employees face unemployment after telecommunications company decides to lay off a third of its workforce

In a letter sent to unions on Wednesday, the telecommunications company says the decline in voice calls and landline data (ADSL), as well as “operational inefficiencies” are the main reasons why so many employees have become redundant.

The first of two rounds of retrenchments is at OpenServe, as well as information technology and consumer services. It is envisaged that these employees will leave Telkom’s service by the end of April this year.

OpenServe is Telkom’s division that provides wholesale services. It’s also its largest division, with 7,899 employees. Telkom says OpenServe’s operating structure is set up to support fixed-line services, as well as a large part of its consumer division.

The second round of retrenchments is at Telkom’s corporate division, where 310 people work. It is anticipated that this round will be completed by August.

De Lille reveals over 3,000 Public Works employees do business with department and 300 of those employees have their own companies

Patricia De Lille says more needs to be done to ensure people who work for the state don’t do business with the department

Public Works Minister Patricia de Lille has revealed more than 3,700 Public Works employees are doing business with the department.

She said 300 of those employees have their own companies and, in some instances, they had not declared the conflict of interest to the department.

The latest shocking revelations come as the Public Works Department investigates irregular expenditure relating to three state funerals that cost taxpayers a whopping R76 million.

It’s alleged a service provider inflated invoices for the funerals of Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, former minister Zola Skweyiya and former chief of state protocol Billy Modise.

De Lille said more needed to be done to ensure people who work for the state don’t do business with the department.

Eskom is now clearly lying, obfuscating and playing with words after it came to light that they are planning to pay out R1, 8 billion in bonuses by saying that it is 13th cheques, not bonuses.

Take into consideration that it was Nersa – National Energy Regulator of South Africa – that called it bonuses in court papers, which is obviously statements made under oath.

Does Eskom now wants us to believe them over Nersa?
Eskom is now playing word and mind games with us by saying that it is 13th cheques, not bonuses . They also say that not all employees are entitled to these 13th cheques. That is where the lie alarm is going off and red flags are going up. What kind of employer does not give a uniform salary structure to its employees? Eskom also says. that employees can choose themselves if they want their total salary package to be divided into 12 or 13 cheques

So if we follow what Eskom has lied, we can then logically conclude that if an employee choose to have 13 pay packages per year and still gets an amount only intended for some employees, but not all, that amount only due for some is in fact a 14th cheque then.

Even if you are the president of SA you are not above the law! – Ramaphosa faces possible Labour Court action for retrenching farm staff

The ANC’s president is not above the law, and his so-called cases of dismissing 22 of his 46 farm workers could land him in the Labor Court. Cyril Ramaphosa dismissed the farm workers in his service, and used the excuse that it was a business decision because foot-and-mouth disease could threaten his cattle herd. No one has yet been able to explain what the illness has to do with his staff’s dismissal, and now unions apparently want to drag their president to the Labor Court.

The farm workers’ union, Fawu, is apparently at the forefront and has threatened to take President Cyril Ramaphosa to task over allegations that he retrenched over half of his Ntaba Nyoni farm staff, in October. According to the union they are protecting their members against “unlawful” retrenchment, but whether the union has the courage to act against its president will learn the time, political analysts say. Farmer Cyril is also affected by poor economic conditions – 22 of his 46 workers are laid off

SA’s poor economic situation led to Pres. Cyril Ramaphosa also caught up with, like many other farmers in the country and is now forced to retrench some of his workers.

Ramaphosa, who farms with Ankole cattle on his farm Ntaba Nyoni Estate near Badplaas in Mpumalanga, is the largest ankole breeder in SA as well as chairman of the Ankole Cattle Society. The cattle are specially imported from Uganda and are especially sought after for their graceful long horns. The president also breeds with boran cattle, a Kenyan beef breed, and bonsmaras.

Ben Molotsi, the farm’s operations manager, confirmed on Wednesday that a clean business decision after Rampahosa laid off 22 of its 46 workers. He says Ramaphosa visited the farm last month and himself conveyed the message of the retrenchments to the workers. Molotsi said the retrenchment packages include financial aid to attend skills development courses.

Expensive mistake due to incompetent officials – Municipality pays R18m in salaries twice – but workers refuse to give it back

A cash-strapped Mpumalanga municipality may need pickaxes and shovels to recover about R18 million in salaries that were paid twice to its employees last month.

An error by officials in the Nkomazi Local Municipality’s finance department saw workers getting paid their salaries on the 15th instead of the 25th.

When the council decided not to pay the workers on the correct pay day, 10 days later, the workers shut down all water treatment plants and other municipal services.

The council bent over backwards and paid the bonanza to contain the service delivery chaos.

Now it wants to recover the money before the end of the 2019/20 financial year in June next year and has suggested deducting 20% from the employees’ salaries, but the workers are having none of it.
