#TheAfricanWay at PRASA – Are you sure you want to get on that train? Management at PRASA have looted all the money, even for train brakes, now they are scratching around in old drums looking for old second hand parts to use!
An official inspection by the the Rail Safety Regulator (RSR) at the Braamfontein maintenance premises of PRASA, has found that they don’t have a single train brake set in stock, and can’t replace worn brake parts on PRASA trains. This finding by the Rail Safety Regulator has been officially communicated to Prasa in a letter addressed to them on 22 January.
PRASA has been ordered to provide the RSR with proof that it intends to solve the shortage of brake block sets and Prasa has also been ordered to provide assurances and proof that all brake block sets on trains are in a safe serviceable order.
