The Springbok Rugby World Cup Dream Team 1995 – 2019

The Springboks are the 2019 Rugby World Cup Champions!

We couldn’t be happier and the win took us down memory lane where we thought about the previous two wins and thinking about those teams and the players that produced the good for us in 1995 and 2007.

So we decided to pick our Springbok Dream team. The criteria is simple:
1. We are only looking at the 1995, 2007 and 2019 tournaments.
2. The players considered had START in the final, but we have looked at form over the whole World Cup.

Lastly, guys, this is our OPINION. It’s not fact and I’m sure 99% of people are going to disagree, which is okay. We are not claiming to be right, it’s just our opinion.

EFF says that Springbok rugby is a symbol of white supremacy against change

Economic Freedom Fighters member of Parliament (MP) Mbuyiseni Ndlozi on Tuesday reiterated his scorn of the Springbok rugby team and said there would be no racial unity in South Africa until wealth was shared equally and land returned to those from whom it was taken.

Ndlozi, in a debate on a motion to congratulate the Springboks for winning the Rugby World Cup, said calls to rally behind the team was a form of collective abuse of black people, who were being asked to sanctify a sport and a symbol that remained redolent of white supremacy.

“Because the Springbok is a sign that cannot be whitewashed, it stands in parallel continuity with Die Stem entrenching white supremacy in our society. That is why the rugby team in question is white-dominated. It is a perfect reflection that white people have successfully resisted change in our society for 25 years,” he said.

Boks qualify for Rugby World Cup quarterfinals with runaway Canada victory

South Africa secured qualification for the Rugby World Cup quarterfinals with a crushing victory over Canada in Kobe on Tuesday.

South Africa once again rotated their squad for their final pool stage match at the Rugby World Cup against Canada on Tuesday knowing that a bonus point would almost certainly secure a place in the last eight for the Springboks.

The only two players to retain their places from the win over Italy were captain Siya Kolisi and centre Damian de Allende as Rassie Erasmus no doubt had one eye on the quarterfinals.

Damian Willemse, Thomas du Toit and Cobus Reinach were all handed their first starts at the tournament.

Going into the match, South Africa had won both the teams’ previous two encounters with an aggregate score of 71-10.

The Springboks got off to a flying start as Damian de Allende coasted over the line inside the opening two minutes after a brilliant line break from RG Snyman set up the South African attack.

Rugby World Cup: All Blacks 23 – Springboks 13 – Did BEE make the difference between winning and just playing?

There were few opportunities in the Springboks’ first game against the All Blacks in Japan as Cheslin Kolbe had few chances, but could have scored at least a try if Wille le Roux’s passing to him was better.

Faf de Klerk is brilliant sometimes but he also makes the game unnecessarily slow. His kicking over the scrum was sometimes pathetic and he was also out of position several times.

KWOTA center Damian de Ellendig just doesn’t give up a ball and his defense leaves much to be desired.

Wing Makazole Mapimpi had a poor match. He just can’t ‘tackle’.

Siya Kolisie is a KWOTA captain and KWOTA flanker. The only time he was close to the game was when he missed his two tackles.

That way we won’t win the World Cup…

Springboks to play against All Blacks in Saturday’s World Cup opening match in Jokohama

A lot is at stake for the Springboks and All Blacks in Saturday’s World Cup opening match in Jokohama, because a team could never hold the Webb Ellis Trophy if they lost a match in the group rounds.

This is where the foundation is laid, where a team builds momentum and psychologically takes an advantage over its opponents.

The winning team believes they can win the tournament (think of the 1995 Boks who beat the Wallabies 25-18 and have the 2007 team that overcame England 36-0 and went on to clinch the tournament).

Records are sure to be broken, but the winning team’s path to the play-offs on their way to a potential final is also more easily spotted with a quarter-final game against Scotland awaiting, while the team that is likely to lose to Ireland in the quarterback will play.
