Julius Malema, leader of the EFF on Heritage Day again called that the Kruger National Park’s name should be changed and that “Die Stem” should be removed from the national anthem.
According to Malema, the country must call for a collective legacy for a fairer future after a divided, painful and unjust past.
According to Malema, the beginning of all heritage is land and it is the foundation of African people’s claim to any heritage.
“We therefore reiterate our call for land redistribution without compensation for equal redistribution to ensure that land is returned to its rightful owners.”
The party further demanded that the names of public places with “colonial and apartheid names” be changed.
“All statues of apartheid and colonial killers must be removed, including street and public places names such as the Kruger National Park.”
The EFF also wants the names of the Cape Town and East London airports to be renamed Winnie Mandela and Steve Bi
