Sex scandal shakes ANC after reports of Gwend Mantashe’s escapades came to light and he paid bribes to hide it.
The reports not only roam within the ANC’s parliamentary ranks, but even the media and social network buzzed over the alleged bribery to which Minister Mantashe is guilty.
Rumors and reports say that the ANC’s Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Gwend Mantashe paid reporters to remain silent about his sexual life.
The minister will apparently be asked in writing to disclose the names of the journalists involved in the scandal.
A spokeswoman for the SA National Editors’ Forum described the news and allegations as “shocking”, but political analysts believe it could mean the end of the minister’s political career.
Allegations are being made that the minister paid two “unknown” journalists R70,000 to make his “sex story with a young woman disappear”.
