Black union blames ‘lily white’ emergency workers for gold miners deaths

The deaths of four miners at the Tau Lekoa gold mine in the North West province are reportedly blamed on “lily-white emergency workers” who allegedly prevented black workers from saving their buddies. These accusations are being made by the National Union of Miners (Num) After an underground rockfall at Village Main Reef caused miners to be trapped since Friday afternoon.

According to Joseph Montisetse, president of the NUM, “lily-white rescue teams” prevented black volunteers from rescuing those trapped and bringing them to the surface. He says that white people do not care about the lives of black miners, but they do care about the money they generate. Montisetse said their members apparently rescued the only miner found alive and rescue workers were still talking to the trapped Friday at 1pm, but after 5pm they did not hear from them again. He claims that they could have saved the trapped.

ANC regime blows millions of rands on students to study medicine in Cuba – Costs amount to more than double the amount it would cost in SA

Allegations are being made that the ANC Free State paid more than R330,000 per student to study in Cuba to become a doctor.

This is more than double the amount it would have cost in South Africa, and the biggest problem is that the students did not graduate.

It takes six years to graduate as a doctor in Cuba, plus one year to be taken as a language course beforehand to master Spanish.

Initially, 211 students were sent to Cuba, 33 of whom soon returned to SA, but soon after, one perished in a street of the capital.

The training of doctors in Cuba differs from the training offered in South Africa, and experts warn that the doctors are not necessarily suitable for the service expected of doctors.

Whistle-blower says school fabricated the English examination marks of grades 8, 9 and 11. He says pupils did not even sit for the exams

A Limpopo school that has failed to reach a 50% matric pass for the past three years allegedly fabricated English marks for grades 8, 9 and 11 in March.

The allegation about the fabricated marks was made by Michael Mosomane to the Education Labour Relations Council (ELRC) as part of his submission, which City Press has seen, challenging the termination of his contract by the education department in May.

Mosomane was employed in January as a temporary accounting teacher at Nakedi Secondary in De Vrede village about 130km outside of Polokwane.

He told City Press that he had initially reported the matter to the education department’s offices in Polokwane on May 6 to raise the alarm, but he received no feedback.

Instead, his contract was terminated by the department on May 27, despite it being scheduled to end in December

Black Netball SA president faces complaint of racism after her remarks earlier this year at SA championships

The civil rights organization AfriForum instructed its legal team on Friday to lodge a complaint against Cecilia Molokwane, president of Netball South Africa (NSA).

In the complaint, NSA is requested to investigate the president after AfriForum received complaints that Molokwane allegedly misbehave and made racist remarks at the South African championship in August this year in Johannesburg.

AfriForum said in a media statement on Friday that it had delivered a lawyer’s letter from Daniël Eloff, on behalf of Hurter Spies Attorneys in Pretoria, to the NSA’s office in Arcadia, Pretoria, and sent an email to CEO Blanche de la Guerre .

AfriForum does not say in its media statement that it is acting on its behalf.

Sex scandal shakes ANC after reports of Gwend Mantashe’s escapades came to light and he paid bribes to hide it.

The reports not only roam within the ANC’s parliamentary ranks, but even the media and social network buzzed over the alleged bribery to which Minister Mantashe is guilty.

Rumors and reports say that the ANC’s Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Gwend Mantashe paid reporters to remain silent about his sexual life.

The minister will apparently be asked in writing to disclose the names of the journalists involved in the scandal.

A spokeswoman for the SA National Editors’ Forum described the news and allegations as “shocking”, but political analysts believe it could mean the end of the minister’s political career.

Public Protector received money from Guptas, but denied that she was corrupt

The Public Protector has denied allegations that she is corrupt and has received money from the Guptas in the past.

Busisiwe Mkhwebane is accused of receiving about R5,000 from the Guptas two years before her appointment as OB.

It is not mentioned whether she received the amount monthly, but it is suspected that she may have received it more than once.

However, she said they should take all her bank statements from the FNB and prove that she got money from the Guptas.

A non-profit foreign organization made the allegations, but besides it further adversely affects her chances of being in the post, it has international consequences for South Africa.

Pretoria’s main magistrate, Desmond Nair, has been silent for weeks after allegations were made that he benefited from the security upgrade of his home, thanks to Bosasa.

The Magistrate Commission, which met on February 22, decided to give the suspicious magistrate the opportunity to respond to the allegations that he had made improvements of about R200,000 in security equipment at his home with Bosasa’s “help .

Nurses allegedly ‘ignored’ pleas for help as mom cradled dead infant after suffering a miscarriage, while nurses pay no attention to her and ate their cereal at Groote Schuur Hospital

The Western Government Health Department will be investigating a young mother’s claims that she nearly bled to death after suffering a miscarriage, while nurses ignored her and ate their cereal at Groote Schuur Hospital.

The woman says she lay for seven hours in a heap of blood clots “the size of her fists”, while the dead baby lay between her legs.

Saadijah Samuels Abrahams, 28, of Bridgetown says nurses ignored her desperate cries for help and, afterwards, a cleaner dumped the foetus in a bin.

“I wrapped the baby inside tissue paper and left it at my bedside and when I came back, the nurse said she didn’t know what happened,” she says.

“When my husband was finally allowed inside the ward, he put on gloves and found the baby inside the bin. Can you imagine that? To find your baby inside a bin?”

Saadijah was 14 weeks pregnant with her second child and says she was excited to be giving birth in July.
