Department of Health: Medical negligence claims increase to more than R104 billion in 2019 due to extremely poor medic services in health sector

Claims of patients instituted due to medical negligence by the state’s institutions have risen dramatically, highlighting the extremely poor medical services in the health sector.

Over the past four years to 2019, more than R104 billion has been claimed by patients or their relatives against the Department of Health.

Observers point out that this is a clear indication of the quality of health services in state entities, which according to statistics is a four-fold increase in claims over the previous four-year term.

The claims are largely due to negligence in government hospitals, and people who do not have a medical scheme are the victims because they have no alternative solution.

Land expropriation without compensation shock revealed! ANC regime publishes charade bill on expropriation without compensation

The leader of the Afrikaner Self-Determination Party has strongly opposed the ANC over the government’s rate of land expropriation.

The shocking revelation was made in the media this past weekend that the ANC had just published a charade bill on expropriation without compensation for public comment. The media revealed that Dr Mathole Motshekga of the ANC acknowledged that the ANC had published this facade so that it did not cause too much opposition before the real bill was tabled in parliament.

In terms of the true bill, according to Motshekga, the courts will have no power to decide on the legality of the ANC’s intended expropriations without compensation.

Motshekga stated that, in the opinion of the ANC, the court process is taking too long and that the ANC government as elected government should have the final say on expropriations without compensation.

SA chrome firms warn of more than 1,200 job cuts – Eskom’s unreliability and rising tariffs were some of the main reasons for the layoffs

Joint venture partners Glencore and Merafe Resources could cut up to 665 jobs and have started consultations with workers at their Rustenburg ferrochrome smelter.

Local chrome firms on Monday warned of more than 1,200 potential job cuts, citing power cuts, rising electricity tariffs and increased competition from overseas.

The potential layoffs highlight the risks posed to Africa’s most industrialised economy by struggling state power utility Eskom, which is struggling with breakdowns at its coal-fired power plants and is mired in a financial crisis.

They also pile more pressure on President Cyril Ramaphosa’s government, which is trying to contain 29% unemployment.

They came to fleece him for his gadgets, a cellphone, tablet & TV… his life was a mere hindrance to them. A momentary pause to pull the trigger before grabbing the few gadgets and fleeing. Riaan Barnard (52) of Germiston was shot dead last night Tuesday 14 January, at about 21:00, whilst sitting on his veranda at his house, peacefully smoking a cigarette, which tragically turned out to be his last.

He was surprised by 2 murderers. His mother-in-law told Maroela Media that the only other person in the house was his life partner, Esme Swanepoel (49), who was busy inside the house at the time. According to Esme she just heard Riaan shout “NO” and then she heard the shot.

The 2 killers, black males, then ran into the house where they pointed the gun at Esme, before they fled with the tablet that Riaan had with him, a cellphone and a TV. Esme found Riaan outside with a gunshot wound in the stomach.
