The talented singer Anthonie Bougas, here is a few things you didn’t know about him

Anthonie Bougas was a contestant on the third season of the reality talent show Supersterre.

Born in Somerset-West, 15-year old Anthonie lives in Durbanville in the Western Cape. As a child he enjoyed cross country, hockey, singing and writing songs.

He attends Stellenberg High School where his favourite subject is mathematics. He also takes part in hockey and cross country.

Sunette Bridges might be quiet, but her music will be remembered

Sunette Bridges is a South African music artist, the daughter of singing legend Bles Bridges, who once held a concert during the 1980s for the AWB’s People’s Help Scheme1 to raise money to feed the poorest of Afrikaners.

She was heavily criticized by the mainstream Afrikaans media last week because of comments she made regarding the euphoria surrounding Mandela day. Bridges said on her Facebook page that she would not idolize the “father of the militant struggle“(Mandela), and Anton Goosen, a liberal alienist song-writer and singer, replied by predictably accusing her of “racism.”2 Bridges, however, refused to let this meaningless accusation get the better of her and continued to proclaim her pride in her Boer heritage and culture.

Sunette follows in her father’s footsteps by launching and supporting actions that aim to provide help to the thousands of Afrikaner-Boer families living in the most horrendous conditions in South Africa today

Let’s remember the golden singers from the past:- Cora Marie

Cora Nell was born on 3 January in 1953.She grew up in Springs. Her childhood years was very challenging. She grew up in a orphanage due to her father that passed away when she was a year old.

At the age of 17 she started to work as a receptionist at the South Afican Army. Cora always had a passion for music and singing, and she started to participate in Tallent competitions while working as a receptionist. While participating in a tallent competition she was noticed by a young record producer- Corrie Myburgh. Cora introduced herself to him and told him that she wants to record a album. The record producer advised her that she was not ready to record.

This did not stop Cora from recording her first single. In 1976 she recorded her first single- Hasta Manana (Song from Abba).

Cora lost contact with Corrie Myburgh, but they reunited in 1979, and after developing a friendship they got married in September of 1979.

Due Bottomless Coffee sing pragtig in Afrikaans

Bottomless Coffee moes vir die perfekte dag wag om die video vir hul eerste Afrikaanse liedjie Ek Sal Wag te skiet.

Een van die lede, Lourens Rabé verduidelik: “Ons het Ek Sal Wag begin konseptualiseer rondom die gevoel van winter. Die liedjie was geskryf tydens toer op ’n koue en grys dag in Londen, en ons wou hierdie selfde gevoel vasvang op die video. Ons moes daarom die weervoorspelling dophou siende dit steeds somer was toe ons die video moes skiet. Toe die nodige kouefront uiteindelik op pad was, moes ons alles opsy skuif en dinge vir die maak van die video blitsvinnig reël.”

Volgens Lourens was die weer op die dag self ook maar op en af. Na ’n tydperk van “jakkals trou met wolf se vrou” kon hul net gedeeltelik verfilm as dit bewolk was en moes elke keer stop sodra die son uitgekom het.

“Ons is toe so 18:00 na die Paarl-berg en teen daardie tyd het die wolke behoorlik ingerol. Dit het soos winter in sy volle glorie gevoel.
