Has ANC’s Day of Reckoning Finally Arrived? A National Health Service is meant to be there for times of emergency and unexpected disasters. People are legally forced to pay taxes based on this premise, but ANC officials have been systemically stealing these taxes, and now that a pandemic has struck, there is no Health Service and babies and their mothers are dying. Old people are dying. Just as the ANC regime make a song and a dance about receiving a batch of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) from China, India joins the long list of countries complaining that they have been duped by China’s altruistic propaganda campaign. India received 50,000 faulty personal protection equipment (PPE) from China. Like South Africa, and many other desperate countries, the gear was part of a charity drive trying to improve China’s image as a global power, promote communism, and also to make up for unleashing CCPvirus on the world, which has now killed nearly 150,000 people. Patients suffer while NEHAWU members trashed Pietersburg hospital during illegal picketing, demanding performance bonuses

NEHAWU members thrashed the Maternity Wards and kitchen of Pietersburg Hospital while they were illegally picketing at the hospital.

Nurses who were assisting women to give birth had to run for cover fearing the picketers who were on a destructive mode. Patient food for tonight scattered all over the place. They are demanding that the department top up the R43 million that it has payed workers as performance bonuses.

Launching NHI is not going to improve healthcare – SA health services could face a shortfall of 400,000 nurses by 2025

The government’s intention to launch a National Health Insurance already appears to be incoherent. Apart from the only two days the members were given to an advisory committee to determine which medical conditions would be covered, another “massive problem” has now emerged:

Prospective nursing staff are hampered by the accreditation of Institutions where they had to be trained, apparently placed on the long track. This means that no nursing staff will be trained next year. Currently, there is an estimated ratio of 1 nurse to 1,000 patients nationwide and this ratio will continue to deteriorate.

Another problem is students who want to be trained as nurses for Intensive care, neonatal care and pediatrics, trauma, and casualty posts. Maintaining our current primary health care is already showing serious shortcomings and will now be further undermined.

Mamelodi Hospital is a death trap; new-born baby fell to his death after mother gave birth standing up after nurses refuse to help her

The Democratic Alliance says Mamelodi Hospital in Pretoria is overcrowded, understaffed and under-equipped.

DA’s national and Gauteng health spokespeople, Siviwe Gwarube and Jack Bloom visited the hospital following reports that a new-born baby fell to his death – allegedly after nurses refused to help his mother.

The woman allegedly gave birth standing up.

Gwarube says the hospital is a death trap.

This hospital sees the birth of about 800 babies a month and they only have two midwives working at any given time. They supposed to have 12. It puts the lives of people at risk.

“We are going to keep seeing these situations if we don’t lead with the root causes. If we are serious about universal healthcare, we cannot have hospitals like this which become death traps for our people,” she said.

The provincial health department says it’s investigating the case.

Nurses allegedly ‘ignored’ pleas for help as mom cradled dead infant after suffering a miscarriage, while nurses pay no attention to her and ate their cereal at Groote Schuur Hospital

The Western Government Health Department will be investigating a young mother’s claims that she nearly bled to death after suffering a miscarriage, while nurses ignored her and ate their cereal at Groote Schuur Hospital.

The woman says she lay for seven hours in a heap of blood clots “the size of her fists”, while the dead baby lay between her legs.

Saadijah Samuels Abrahams, 28, of Bridgetown says nurses ignored her desperate cries for help and, afterwards, a cleaner dumped the foetus in a bin.

“I wrapped the baby inside tissue paper and left it at my bedside and when I came back, the nurse said she didn’t know what happened,” she says.

“When my husband was finally allowed inside the ward, he put on gloves and found the baby inside the bin. Can you imagine that? To find your baby inside a bin?”

Saadijah was 14 weeks pregnant with her second child and says she was excited to be giving birth in July.
