As the global CoronaVirus infections shoots past 1 Million with over 53,000 dead, the ANC government has announced new measures to combat the COVID-19 pandemic in SA, by launching a mass campaign of testing people. On the same day the Department of Health admitted that the first official coronavirus infection has been found in Alexandra township next to Johannesburg. This was only a day after the first infection was found in the sprawling black shantytown of Khayalitsha, causing concerns among ANC politicians that it could lead to a very chaotic state.

Why South Africa Should Be Banning Flights From China NOW, Like Many Other Nations Have – Non Severe Cases ARE Infectious!

As the Coronavirus infection rate shows no sign of letup in China, and if we can trust the figures, there are now 31,440 infections and 639 deaths, with 64,000 close contacts under medical observation. It is two now weeks later, which was supposedly the incubation period, and it is now high time that SA stop flights from China!

The Department of Health claims it has received a report on the conditions in China, but informed sources indicate that the Chinese government, like all good communist governments, are not disclosing the full condition, and that the conditions are far worse than released. Likewise, being a communist regime, the ANC government is being far from transparent and forthcoming, however in this case, it is not so much to save face for “The Supreme Leader”, but more ineptitude, lack of knowledge and plain simple shortsightedness – all the usual things we have learnt to hate about the ANC regime…

Department of Health: Medical negligence claims increase to more than R104 billion in 2019 due to extremely poor medic services in health sector

Claims of patients instituted due to medical negligence by the state’s institutions have risen dramatically, highlighting the extremely poor medical services in the health sector.

Over the past four years to 2019, more than R104 billion has been claimed by patients or their relatives against the Department of Health.

Observers point out that this is a clear indication of the quality of health services in state entities, which according to statistics is a four-fold increase in claims over the previous four-year term.

The claims are largely due to negligence in government hospitals, and people who do not have a medical scheme are the victims because they have no alternative solution.

Thousands of operations canceled in Gauteng hospitals due to defective infrastructure or lack of basic medical supplies

Gauteng Department of Health reported nearly 2,036 canceled operations in Charlotte Maxeke Hospital in 2018. A total of 1,979 surgeries were postponed at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital last year.

According to Gauteng Health MEC spokesperson Kwara Kekana, operations are canceled or delayed due to various reasons such as an overcrowded high-care unit, patient problems, inadequate infrastructure or a shortage of basic medical supplies. However, they now want to take strict measures to prevent the cancellation of non-emergency operations at the Charlotte Maxeke and Chris Hani Baragwanath hospitals in Johannesburg.

Two SA doctors are making revolutionary advances in malaria research

In the small village of Musina in the Far Northern Transvaal, a revolutionary piece of scientific progress has been made that can save millions of people’s lives.

This is especially true for young children who die in large numbers every year due to malaria that could not be determined in time.

According to the two doctors, they have developed a practical application to “divide” malaria which helps to reduce the spread of parasites and thereby reduce the transmission of mosquitoes.

A test is performed on the patient who indicates very soon whether malaria is present or not.

The system has also aroused the interest of world leaders in the field of malaria research, which has now made R22 million available

Malaria infects almost 250 million people annually, of which about 500,000 die from the infection each year.

The two doctors, Benji Pretorius and Richard Schmidt, apparently want to continue their work to combat the dreaded disease.

AfriForum het vandag in ’n brief aan president Cyril Ramaphosa, minister van finansies Tito Mboweni en minister van gesondheid Zweli Mkhize gestuur waarin die burgerregteorganisasie waarsku dat die inwerkingstelling van nasionale gesondheidsversekering (NGV) uiteindelik tot die afgradering van die land se kredietgradering tot rommelstatus kan lei.

Dít volg nadat die kredietgraderingsagentskap Moody’s Suid-Afrika se kredietgradering onlangs van ’n stabiele na ’n negatiewe vooruitsig afgegradeer het. Die rede vir dié afgradering is volgens Moody’s somber groeivooruitsigte en groeiende openbare skuld. In sy brief voer AfriForum aan dat onbekostigbare, ideologiese beleide soos die NGV daartoe gaan lei dat Suid-Afrika na rommelstatus afgegradeer sal word, aangesien die land dit eenvoudig nie kan befonds nie.

2,600 graduated young doctors not yet placed out for their one-year mandatory service

The ANC government is again, as it was last year, extremely negligent in dealing with graduated young doctors who have to be posted for their one year community service.

About 2,600 young doctors who have graduated within a month have not yet been notified where to go for their one-year mandatory service to the community.

Last year, the same neglect was experienced and students were plunged into total chaos as the Department of Health failed to notify the young doctors in a timely manner of their service.

Meanwhile, information has been received that the young doctors are concerned that the authorities are not ready to place them, and therefore have not taken the necessary information and measures to compensate them.

Hospitals held up due to shortage of basic medical supplies – ANC regime want to implement NHI, but is currently unable to manage hospitals

Due to a lack of basic medical supplies, all non-emergency operations were discontinued at the Johannesburg Hospital.

The problems have been going on for weeks and doctors now have to “beg” for medical supplies at neighboring hospitals to deal with serious cases.

The Gauteng Health ministry has confirmed that non-emergency surgery for some patients had to be rescheduled at Charlotte Maxeke hospital in Johannesburg due to a shortage of medical supplies.

This was in response to a statement from the Democratic Alliance’s spokesperson on health, Jack Bloom, who said about 20 patients had been told that their operations could not go ahead. Kwara Kekana, spokesperson for the province’s health MEC, Dr Bandile Masuku, said eight patients were affected by the issue. The patients were all scheduled for arthroplasty.

“There has been a problem for some weeks with procurement at this hospital,” Bloom said in his statement.

God Help us! No health care facility in Gauteng controlled by ANC regime could pass safety audit – Now the very same regime wants to enforce a National Health Insurance Plan across SA

No healthcare facility in Gauteng was able to successfully pass a safety audit that complies with the Occupational Safety Act of SA (OHSA),according to a statement issued by DA Health spokesman Jack Bloom on Thursday. This means that all hospitals and clinics in Gauteng pose a safety risk to staff and patients.

It ranges from overcrowding to emergency departments, leaky roofs, non-functional air conditioning and non-standard kitchens.

This highlights how unprepared the state is for the planned National Health Insurance to be introduced.

Informed sources believe it is better not to go to the hospitals, as the risk of just being further affected or even die, has become too great.

“This information about the shock state of healthcare facilities is revealed by Gauteng Health MEC Bandile Masuku in a written response to questions in the Gauteng Legislature,” Bloom said.

Woman to sue Gauteng health department after giving birth to ‘decapitated’ baby in state hospital

A 19-year-old woman who delivered a “decapitated” baby is planning to sue the Gauteng health department.

According to eNCA, the woman had suffered with abdominal pain for a few weeks before she went into labour. The woman, who has not been named, spoke to eNCA.

She then went to a general practitioner, who found that something was wrong with the baby and suggested she go to hospital for further assessment.

The pain persisted, so she went to Tambo Memorial hospital in Boksburg, where a scan was done, eNCA said.

The hospital confirmed the baby was abnormal, but said a heartbeat could be heard.

“Three days later, she went into labour. She was pushing, but the baby was not coming out. A doctor came and used forceps to take the baby out,” eNCA reported. “That’s when she said she saw the head of her baby without their rest of the body.”
