Die ondersoekdirektoraat (OD) het beslag gelê op bates ter waarde van meer as R520 miljoen wat aan die Gupta-familie behoort het, hul sakevennoot Iqbal Sharma en sy vrou, Tarina Patel.

Die beslaglegging volg op ‘n besluit van die Vrystaatse hooggeregshof in Bloemfontein om die OD ‘n bevel te gee om die bates van Islandsite Investments, Sharma en Patel te bewaar. Islandsite besit meer as 40% van Oakbay Investments, ‘n korporatiewe struktuur wat winsgewende aandele in verskeie maatskappye besit, ‘n Gupta spoghuis in Saxonwold en die gesin se luukse huis in Constantia, Kaapstad.

FNB Ontvang Meeste Klagtes in Ombudsman van Bankdienste se Jaarverslag van Mees Algemene Klagtes Teen Banke

Meer as 7,700 amptelike klagtes is ingedien by die Ombudsman vir Bankdienste in Suid-Afrika, wat hul jaarverslag vir die boekjaar 2020 gepubliseer het, wat die mees algemene klagtes teen banke sowel as bankiers bevat, omdat die verhouding tussen groter klante en die bankier ook in die verslag is. 6,472 klagtes is die vorige jaar (2019) ontvang.

Sommige klagtes word onder die aandag van die Bank gebring met die verwagting dat hulle daarop sal reageer en aan die Ombudsman verslag moet doen. In hierdie verband het die Ombudsman 8 389 sake na die betrokke banke terugverwys, wat ‘n skerp toename is in vergelyking met die 4 709 wat in 2019 aan banke terugbesorg is.

SA Banking Ombudsman Reveals Most Common Complaints about Banks & Bankers – FNB had Most Complaints!

More than 7,700 official complaints have been lodged with the Ombudsman for Banking Services in South Africa, who published their annual report for the 2020 financial year, which contains the most common complaints against banks, as well as bankers, because the relationship between larger customers and the banker is also in the report. 6,472 complaints were received the previous year (2019).

Some complaints are brought to the attention of the Bank with the expectation of getting a response to them and for reporting to the Ombudsman. In this regard, the Ombudsman referred 8,389 cases back to the Banks concerned, which is a sharp increase compared to the 4,709 returned to banks in 2019.

Complaints related to matters on current accounts included fraud, fees charged, and other costs, as well as banks’ negligence in issuing warnings of accounts to be closed by the bank. The Ombudsman also closed 981 accounts involving internet fraud.

Bloemfontein succumbs to the African Way and is placed under administration – governance has totally collapsed. Like Eskom, black management have no solutions…

Only the ruins of a once proud Bloemfontein, once called Die Rosestad, have remained, and the metro administration is now in a position where it simply can’t manage itself anymore. It is the first metro in the country that has totally collapsed. So says Professor Andre Duvenhage, currently a political analyst at the North West University, who stayed 17 years in Bloemfontein.

Duvenhage says he is shocked over the decay of the once proud institution, once reckoned among the best in the country. Duvenhage says the whole local government system in the Free State has collapsed and what can be seen in Bloemfontein, can be seen anywhere in the Free State. He says Bloemfontein is hopelessly bankrupt and the lawyers of debt collectors regularly close Bloemfontein’s Nedbank account to lay its hands on some money as soon as a little comes in.

Nashua’s CEO resigns and plans to emigrate – He is one of hundreds of senior executives leaving the country because of government’s discriminatory measures to harm whites in the workplace

Mark Taylor, Nashua’s Chief Executive Officer and CEO of Reunert, resigned from both positions in preparation for his “departure” from the country.

His resignation at Reunert as head of the Information Communication Technology Division comes into effect on October 1, 2019.

He plans to emigrate in 2020. Taylor has worked in executive positions at Nedbank, Vodacom, Nashua and currently holds the positions of Chief Executive Officer at Reunert and Nashua.

Observers point out that he is one of hundreds of senior officials leaving the country, knowing that the government will start taking more discriminatory measures to harm whites in the workplace.

Nedbank warns ANC-regime that there is a 10% chance that SA is heading for a Ramaphobia scenario

Nedbank used their semi-annual report to issue a strict warning to the government. According to the report, there is a 10% chance that South Africa is heading for a Ramaphobia scenario.

It involves the infighting in the ANC, the battle being lost against corruption, more downgrades, power cuts with increasing tensions and social unrest.

Nedbank experienced an increase in debt that could not be recovered, which is an example of the country’s struggling economy.
