ROODEPAN – Homes in Ravel Street, Roodepan are under sewage. Residents cannot move out of their homes.
According to residents, the problem has been around for months and every person in the street has already reported it.
A resident of the area told FiND iT that the sewage dam is now rising so fast that if given another day, it will run inside the homes.
FiND iT has inquired with Thoko Riet, spokesman for the Sol Plaatje municipality,Kimberley but is still waiting for an answer.

Officials from the Department of Justice and Constitutional Affairs appeared in the Zastron Magistrate’s Court, Free State on charges of fraud.
A former manager in the courts, one Desmond Mokhobo, 32, and his colleague, Mxolisi Kakalatsa, 38, who served as an administrative clerk, is charged with fraud amounting to about R380,000.
The two men were arrested last week by the Corruption Unit, which investigated the alleged fraud at the department from 2018 to July 2019.
Allegations are being made that the two accused will be prosecuted for their share in the theft of fines, bail, court fines, all of which had to be handled by the Department.
A second charge of money laundering and other offences was also presented to the court, which both received an R2,000 bail, and was ordered to return to court on January 8, 2020.

The brazen theft of at least 20 fully automatic R4 rifles from the Lyttelton South African National Defence Force Base has sparked outrage and fear.

The massacre in rural areas has increased in recent years, according to the latest figures on farm attacks and murders.
Henry Geldenhuys, deputy president of the agricultural organization TAU SA, says that according to their statistics, there were 409 farm attacks in 2019 compared to 395 farm attacks in 2018, during the same period 56 murders on farms tenor 53 of the previous year. However, he continues by stating that the figures may be even higher as December is not over.
According to Geldenhuys, there were even farm attacks on Christmas Day in Harding respectively in KwaZulu-Natal, where a farmer was attacked with a knife, in Kakamas in the Northern Cape, where a family was attacked, and in Bapsfontein in Gauteng, where a farmer was assaulted. He says crimes such as murder, armed robbery and stock theft increase every year and when it comes to crime prevention, one can never be too paranoid, especially when living in the countryside and doing business.
Vicki Momberg, first South African ever sent to jail for what was deemed to be racist slurs in South Africa because while the victim of a robbery in anger used the “K-word” several times.
Convicted “racist” Vicki Momberg is now a free woman after she was released from Sun City Prison in Johannesburg on Friday afternoon.
Her lawyer, Anesh Sukdeo, confirmed to Netwerk24 that she was indeed released but he was not sure of the reasoning behind this action.
Momberg was re-arrested in November after she was on the run following a warrant of arrest that was issued due to her failure to appear in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court in August after unsuccessfully appealing against her crimen injuria conviction, News24 reported.

The bankrupt power provider has obtained a loan from the Brics Bank carried by five counties in the world, of which South Africa is one.
Eskom has secured a loan of R6bn with the aim to “store” electricity, which will work through a battery system.
The system will allow Eskom to store 360 MW across four provinces, but there are some resignations about the efficiency of its system, and some experts believe the money could have been better spent on setting up solar farms.
There are also concerns about Eskom’s ability to repay the loan at set times.
