During a meeting of the Gauteng community safety committee, the FF Plus proposed that all firearms belonging to ANC safety structures be fitted with a microchip.
The proposal came after the MEC for community safety, Faith Mazibuko, answered a question from the FF Plus, admitting that 279 state firearms and thousands of rounds of ammunition have been reported missing or stolen, in the past three years.
