One of the reasons left wing liberals are called snowflakes is because it does not take much to make them melt and give up any reason or principle, and like a snowflake hitting the warm ground, the controversial far left wing Editor of News24, Adriaan Basson’s feelings towards “thousands of pensioners whose livelihood depends on the GEPF“, quickly melted and turned into a callous “We have run out of money and options – pensions will bail out Eskom.”  Seems for some reason Adriaan Basson now supports the plan to plunder your pensions!

Solidarity: Eskom is in crisis due to years of looting, mismanagement and race obsession; asking taxpayers to fund R1.8 billion in performance bonuses is wrong

Eskom is in crisis and should be treated as a crisis. The company is hopelessly bankrupt and operationally fragile due to years of looting, mismanagement and race obsession. The new CEO, André de Ruyter, has to be given comprehensive powers similar to that of a business rescue practitioner. If Eskom is not treated as if it is in business rescue, it is going to explode on itself and South Africa.

Asking in court documents that taxpayers should finance R1,8 billion in performance bonuses does not fall within a framework of crisis thinking. We did not have access to the documents, but if they ask for R1.8bn worth of performance bonuses to be financed, it is wrong. Eskom’s bonus policy states that bonuses will only be paid out if the company makes a profit. The policy is also applied in this way. Our members have not received bonuses for the past two years. Ramaphose’s dreams on new job creation opportunities are not taken seriously – bigotry and mismanagement go hand in hand amidst the ANC-regime

With the announcement of President Cyril Ramaphosa that a new business venture in Pretoria would lead to the creation of 6,700 new jobs, no one really got excited.

Even the credit rating agency didn’t care, because nothing could make the nearly 30 million unemployed cheer as a drop in the bucket.

Of course, there will be substance to gratitude for every new job created, but why the ANC government, and its president, are excited about it, know soberly.

It was not through them that the venture was undertaken, but just as with the rugby victory in Japan, Ramaphosa wants to be seen where success was achieved, as if it was through him.

Over the years, big talk has not helped to determine the future – only thorough knowledge and research, good planning, and subsequent execution of the plan will bring the expected good results with honest and hard work.

The bigotry and endless mismanagement go hand in hand, and both are equally worthless in today’s time of high

The South African story – How to destroy a country

South Africa is on a path of destruction and is on its way to becoming an “unhappy country” like Zimbabwe and Venezuela.

This is the view of Efficient Group founder and chief economist Dawie Roodt, who was speaking at an event hosted by the Free Market Foundation.

Roodt said that while unhappy countries – where their economies are destroyed – are not all the same, there is a similar pattern on how the economic destruction takes place.

Destroy the existing capital in the country.
Frighten the taxpayers by continuing to increase taxes.
Scare savers by targeting their money.
The country tries to inflate itself out of debt.

Roodt said the destruction of a country’s economy always ends the same, with high levels of inflation.

12 Municipalities in the Eastern Transvaal are under suspicion of mismanagement and corruption – R2 billion worth of wasteful expenditure incurred

The Zondo Commission, which raises millions of rand from the state treasury, has now had to shift its focus to the Eastern Transvaal to hear evidence of corruption and state capture in state-owned entities.

Corruption in many municipalities in the province, as well as mismanagement and maladministration, seems to have been addressed.

At least 12 municipalities are suspected of being guilty of corruption and mismanagement, and it appears the municipalities of, among others, Piet Retief, Lydenburg, Carolina, Balfour, Volksrust, Ermelo, Standerton, Middelburg and Delmas and three location municipalities are in danger .

According to a report by the Auditor-General, about R2 billion of expenditure was incurred unlawfully among the municipalities, and more than R236 million was a mere waste of funds.

Of all the illegal expenses, one particular case was pointed out in excess of R5 million paid for repairing a road that does not exist at all.

Water and Sanitation Ministry run under a cloud of large-scale financial mismanagement by ANC cadres who knowingly robbed the department of much needed funds

Lindiwe Sisulu, the new Minister of Water and Sanitation, acknowledged during her budget debate in parliament that her department is living under a cloud and that “major financial mismanagement” has occurred by top officials.

She apparently undertook to reverse the situation as soon as possible. She can’t understand that so much money has been lost, and will try to stop the loopholes.

Observers wonder if action will be taken against those who have deliberately stole at the department, or will the eventually be redeployed in other sectors like normal ANC practice.

Widespread corruption and mismanagement are the order of the day at KZN municipality – Eskom debt amounts to nearly R50 million – Municipalities under the control of the ANC are folding, one after another

The ANC’s “policy” to make the country ungovernable is producing vigorous fruit.

The Abuqulusi municipality (Vryheid) owes Eskom just short of R50 million. Widespread corruption and mismanagement caused the council to be placed under administration.

Suddenly, the Natal Department of Co-operative Awakened Government and Traditional Affairs and stated that they were “stunned” about the state of the municipality.
