Natasha Mazzone Doen Beroep op SAPD om die Ondersoek na Malema en Shivambu te Bespoedig oor Beweerde VBS-plundering

Natasha Mazzone, DA-LP, het ‘n beroep op die ANC se SA Polisiediens gedoen om hul ondersoek na klagtes wat die party teen Julius Malema, leier van die EFF, en sy adjunk, Floyd Shivambu, aanhangig gemaak het, te bespoedig.

Dit volg nadat Shivambu se broer, Brian, ‘n skulderkenning van R4,55 miljoen met VBS Mutual Bank-gekoppelde Vele Investments onderteken het; terwyl hy erken het dat daar “geen onderliggende basis vir die betaling” was nie. Brian se prokureurs het aangedring op ‘n vertroulikheidsklousule tydens die ondertekening van die erkenning.

Face of new DA leadership set to be all white with Steenhuisen taking position of Parliamentary leader

The Sunday Times is reporting that the Democratic Alliance (DA) is set to have a new all white leadership following several resignations including those of two prominent black members.

The publication said supporters of new federal chair Helen Zille are planning a clean sweep as it grapples with a leaderless organisation.

Last week was grim for the official opposition when it’s now ex leader Mmusi Maimane, former Nelson Mandela Bay mayor Athol Trollip, chief executive officer (CEO) Paul Boughey and Herman Mashaba resigned from the party.

This came days after Zille’s come back to the party’s powerful position of federal council chair.

The paper is reporting that insiders in the DA said the vacant positions look set to be filled members who are close to the new federal council chair.

The new list includes John Steenhuisen, who has been nominated for the position of Parliamentary leader, Natasha Mazzone is set to be the next chief whip and Geordin Hil

Eskom problems not solved yet – Possibility of load shedding exists in the coming months

The DA said in a statement on Thursday that it had reliably heard that Eskom had issued a warning to municipalities about the “strong possibility of load shedding in September and October” this year.

Natasha Mazzone, DA’s shadow minister of public affairs,  said in the statement that the opposition party has now written to Eskom chairman Jabu Mabuza for transparency in order to clarify the matter.

“Eskom has continually failed in its mandate to provide reliable and sustained electricity supply and it appears as if millions of South Africans and the faltering economy will be abandoned by Eskom again,” says Mazzone.

According to the statement, each load-bearing phase is estimated to cost the country about R1 billion a day.

“Eskom has repeatedly plunged our country into deep trouble. South Africa cannot afford a repeat of the load shedding of the country earlier this year, ”says Mazzone.

Natasha Mazzone (DA) fears Eskom could plunge SA into a “Chinese debt trap”, China is already taking countries for bad debts

The revelations about Eskom are pouring in from the state capture inquiry. Natasha Mazzone believes their secret deals with China are “risky business”.

We’ve experienced a shuddering last few days at the state capture inquiry. Former Eskom executives who were present when the rot of corruption set in have lifted the lid on some pretty heinous behaviour: It’s been enough to convince Shadow Public Enterprises Minister Natasha Mazzone that the utility has put South Africa on a precipice.
