The Chinese coronavirus which is spreading from China, is looking like it could be an actual pandemic, that circles the globe, according to many of the world’s leading infectious disease experts. Rapidly rising caseloads are alarming researchers, who fear the virus may make its way across the globe. But scientists cannot yet predict how many deaths may result.

To be an official Pandemic, it needs ot be an ongoing epidemic on two or more continents which may well have global consequences. Despite the supposed quick and decisive action by China and the extraordinary travel restrictions and quarantines now imposed by China and other countries, including Russia and the United States.

The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) is considering legal action and has decided to withdraw from any further engagements with a militant group of foreign illegal migrants, who are literally turning Cape Town’s CBD into a sh*thole, on unrealistic dreams of being sent to Canada!
A previous application was heard earlier this week in the High Court to stop the foreigners from littering, making fires on the pavement, urinating and defecating in public! A ruling is due on the 17th of next month.

Two Tourists From The Netherlands Shot At in Farm Attack in Buffelsdrift, Pretoria

Two tourists from the Netherlands experienced first hand what what farm attacks are about when they were attacked and shot at during a braai on a smallholding in Buffelsdrift, Pretoria 

Two tourists from the Netherlands and their tour guide were attacked and shot at on a smallholding in Buffelsdrift which is north of Pretoria on Thursday afternoon. The tourists were braaing (BBQ) with some other people when 3 black male attackers struck. The tour guide ran to go and look for help as shots were fired at the tour guide and the 2 tourists.

Thankfully the 3 attackers fled without taking anything, probably because the tour guide got away and the attackers feared that he would raise the alarm. There were no injuries but the tourists were left severely traumatized. Neighbours did hear the shots and called the Police who attended the scene but no arrests were made.

Yet Another Foreign Tourist, From America, Hastily Flees Back Home After Being Robbed At Gunpoint in The Rainbow Sh*thole

Another foreign tourist, another American again, is hastily returning to America after looking into the barrel of a robber’s gun on the N4 highway in Brits. A 26 year old man, his 22 year girlfriend and an American friend (40), were robbed at gunpoint after they drove over stones that were deliberately packed in the road, and had to stop to change the tyre, on Sunday morning around 02:00 on the N4 highway at Brits.

The group were returning after visiting family at Mooinooi when they had to drive over the stones. They drove on for a while and when they thought that they were safe enough, they stopped to change the tyre. When the 26 year old man got out to change the tyre, he was threatened with a gun by a black man who suddenly appeared. Tourists from USA doing a gardening project, robbed in Khayelitsha

The 72 hour activation plan has been ordered for the arrest of suspects as Khayelitsha detectives are probing an armed robbery case after 11 tourists were robbed in the area on Friday 10 January 2020. The group had been visiting a Khayelitsha gardening project in Site C when they were threatened and robbed of cameras, cellular telephones and wallets.

The tourists, understood to be from the United States, were in the area with a 26 year old local tourist guide when five armed men made their way into the premises of a school where they were.

The suspects, wearing reflector jackets ordered the group into a vehicle and robbed them. No one sustained injury during the incident.

Khayelitsha detectives later visited the group at their hotel and took statements. Counselling services were offered.

Anyone with information that can assist in expediting the investigation is urged to contact the Crime Stop number 08600 10111. The suspects are yet to be arrested.

Chaos erupts at OR Tambo as travellers scramble through the darkness after entire Kempton Park region has been plunged into darkness

There was an eerie feel to the corridors of OR Tambo International Airport on Sunday, as a power cut rendered a majority of its electricity supply useless. A nearby sub-station had exploded earlier in the morning, and the entire Kempton Park region has been plunged into darkness – including SA’s busiest travel hub.

Despite the lack of electricity, the show must go on at OR Tambo. Thousands of travellers have carried on with their business as usual since the power went out – but it’s made life extremely difficult for some.

How OR Tambo has been affected by the blackout

South Africans have been questioning whether the power failure was linked to the recent round of load shedding experienced in the country. We can confirm that’s not the case, and it is solely related to the sub-station fire. However, what does seem to be a head-scratcher is why the back-up generators aren’t working. Complaints raised with the blackout include:

Shosholoza train that was delayed for 9 hours left many passengers red under the collar – just another public service that does not provide service

A man who drove all the way from Velddrif to the West Coast to fetch his children and grandchildren at the Cape Town station is furious after the train only arrived there more than nine hours later.

James Swart says his children were on the Shosholoza Meyl, which was delayed about nine hours due to various technical problems.

They allegedly boarded the train at Klerksdorp on Sunday at 15:00. When he arrived in Cape Town at about 7.30 pm on Tuesday, there was no sign of the train. The train first arrived at the station at 4 am.

Swart’s children say the train apparently stood at Beaufort West Station for almost two hours and then another couple of hours at Lion Gamka.

“This meant that the train was almost nine hours late. No one informs the passengers or their family, who will pick them up at the station, ”Swart told Netwerk24.

During this time, he and his children lost contact due to a poor cellphone signal.
