BBBEE & Land Claims Will be Hate Crimes Under Stricter Definition of Hate Crime in ANC’s Updated Parliamentary Bill

The portfolio committee on Justice and Correctional Services in the SA parliament has called for public comment on the updated Prevention of Hate Speech and Hate Crime Bill, which is intended to impose proper punishment on the said crimes. The new definition of “hate crime” is when someone harms another person with remarks or insulting remarks. Harm is defined as any emotional, psychological, physical, social, or economic harm. So according to the new Bill, it will be a crime to promote and advertise BBBEE. It will also be a crime to sing Kill The Boer Kill The Farmer, or threaten to take someone’s land, as most certainly that causes great emotional harm, trauma and distress.

It will also be a crime to give financial aid to just blacks… …clearly thit is not the case, so the ANC government is either lying or are breaking their own laws, exposing them as the despots, dictators and racists they are…

EFF’s Gardee: Racist Boer pastor’ Buchan’s event should be blown up – This is an incitement to violence and he should be prosecuted

AfriForum’s Ernst Roets wants the EFF secretary general prosecuted for ‘hate speech’ and ‘incitement to violence’.

Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) secretary-general Godrich Gardee expressed the view on Tuesday afternoon that “limpet mines” should be planted at an upcoming event at Loftus Versfeld stadium in Tshwane, held by pastor Angus Buchan.

This after he and EFF second-in-command Floyd Shivambu were offended by a comment Buchan made about only Afrikaans and Jewish people having a “covenant” with God.

Buchan recently announced that he would be holding an event at the stadium on February 1, 2020, called Staan Op Vir Jesus. While all would be welcome at the event, Buchan explained that “this time the emphasis will be on the Afrikaner nation”.

AfriForum’s Ernst Roets not in contempt of court over apartheid flag tweet – Roets said he was posing an academic question with his tweet

Johannesburg – The Equality Court on Tuesday ruled that AfriForum deputy chief executive Ernst Roets was not in contempt of court when he tweeted an image of the offensive apartheid flag.

Roets posted the image on Twitter soon after the Equality Court, sitting at the South Gauteng High Court, declared that the gratuitous display of the apartheid flag amounts to hate speech.

Judge Phineas Mojapelo said displaying the old flag constituted hate speech and discrimination based on race. He added that the apartheid-era flag be allowed for academic, artistic and journalistic use only if there was a need and permission to do so.

Roets’ offensive post prompted the Nelson Mandela Foundation to file bring an urgent application to the court.

However, Roets dismissed suggestions that he disrespected the judgment. Instead he said the court ruled the flag could be used for artistic, journalistic and academic purposes.

Old SA flag is not a symbol of a crime against humanity and to ban it will infringe South Africans’ right to freedom of expression

The Nelson Mandela Foundation announced on Monday that its case regarding the old South African flag for hate speech, unfair discrimination and harassment would be heard in the Equity Court in April.

The case will be heard during the 29th and 30th of April. This comes after the foundation approached the court last March with the request to declare the use and exhibition of the old South African flag for hate speech, unfair discrimination and harassment based on race.

In addition, it said during a statement that it was time to admit that the old South African flag is a symbol of a crime against humanity and that the exhibition is humiliating black South Africans and promoting crime.

The statement supports the following: “It is important that the Equality and Prevention of Unfair Discrimination Promotion Act be used as a tool to discourage such behavior.”

Ramaphosa creates the impression that racism is only a white problem

President Cyril Ramaphosa’s reaction on Radio 702 when asked about the hate speech of BLF leader, Andile Mngxitama, is disappointing as he shifted the focus to white people as if to imply that racism is mainly a white problem.

According to media reports, President Ramaphosa implied that racism is not common among black people and that Mngxitama is probably just “a lone voice out there in the wilderness”.

President Ramaphosa also added that “we cannot, through the hatred of some white people then begin to define the whole white community as haters of black people”.
