The leader of the Afrikaner Self-Determination Party has strongly opposed the ANC over the government’s rate of land expropriation.

The shocking revelation was made in the media this past weekend that the ANC had just published a charade bill on expropriation without compensation for public comment. The media revealed that Dr Mathole Motshekga of the ANC acknowledged that the ANC had published this facade so that it did not cause too much opposition before the real bill was tabled in parliament.

In terms of the true bill, according to Motshekga, the courts will have no power to decide on the legality of the ANC’s intended expropriations without compensation.

Motshekga stated that, in the opinion of the ANC, the court process is taking too long and that the ANC government as elected government should have the final say on expropriations without compensation.

Its still theft, no matter what you call it! ANC regime continues land expropriation without compensation policy

TAU SA is preparing to assist landowners in expropriation cases without compensation. This follows after the discussions with the ad hoc committee appointed by Parliament to submit proposals on how Art. 25 of the constitution – which deals with expropriation without compensation – must be amended.

“It is clear that the committee’s focus is solely on how the law should be amended, and not what the consequences of the amendments will be,” said Mr. Louis Meintjes, the president of TAU SA. “Any input from stakeholders representing farmers is simply dismissed as irrelevant.”

“It is extremely worrying that aspects such as effects on the economy, investment uncertainty, ratings by credit agencies and most importantly, food security, bear no weight in this process. The only matter of importance is that land should be expropriated despite multiple examples of how it failed because of corruption, ignorance and greed. It is not for the benefit of South Africa. ”

John Steenhuisen has told Eyewitness News he is no longer the chief whip of the Democratic Alliance (DA) in Parliament.
He said his term was linked to Mmusi Maimane’s: “The chief whip is appointed by the leader. Since he announced his resignation from Parliament, my term ends.”

The parliamentarians’ babble in parliament is to get sick, especially if, after a serious series of incidents, they suddenly think something needs to be done.

This is the opinion of a political analyst following the series of rapes that took place on several campuses across South Africa.

He says every member of parliament wants to talk about the matter, utter a lot of threats, thinks it’s time to act against the crime, and everything stops.

He says the MPs think if they cleaned up the rape case and said enough about the issue under discussion, then the case was won, and no rape will ever happen again.

Over the past week, dozens of rapes have been reported on campuses that leave the women students terrified while none of the criminals have been arrested.

The leftist DA’s efforts to fire the Public Protector continue, but the Red Brigade is apparently trying to do everything possible to prevent her from losing her post.

Busisiwe Mkhwebane faces many problems, and now the portfolio committee reflecting on her has succeeded in referring the matter to the Speaker of Parliament.

The Red Brigade and the ANC’s Zuma faction are firmly behind Mkhwebane, but the other opposition parties in parliament have been demanding her resignation for some time.

In the midst of many court cases in which the PP has failed, the main reason is that opposition parties believe that she is not up to the task of the Public Protector.

SA taxpayers to fund over R76 million for politicians who did not return to parliament after this year’s national election

Government will spend over R76 million of taxpayer’s money on ‘loss-of-office gratuities’ for politicians who did not return to parliament after this year’s national election.

The Sunday Times reports that this figure is set to continue rising in the coming weeks as payments are still being processed.

The gratuities will be paid to former ministers and MPs who completed at least a five-year term in office, with four months’ of pensionable salary being paid out for every five years of service completed.

This means that former ministers like Jeff Radebe and Derek Hanekom stand to earn at least R4.8 million each.

According to the paper, earning this package does not preclude politicians from accepting other public sector positions, or returning to parliament at a later date.

DA MP John Steenhuisen said that the packages were originally instituted to help MPs, but has since turned into an unnecessary and expensive benefit.Continue reading…

Controversial Public Protector found that Cyril lied to parliament about R500,000 payment from Bosasa

Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhebane found in her inquiry report that the payment of R500,000 to Ramaphose by Bosasa, was wrongful and that the president is guilty of violating the code of ethics for executive members . Ramaphosa argued the money was deposited into a trust account for services rendered by his son, Andile.

Mkhebane, released her report at a news conference in Pretoria, and revealed that Ramaphosa lied to parliament about the payout. Netwerk 24 reports that Mmusi Maimane, DA leader, asked Ramaphosa a question on payment on parliament on 6 November 2018. He said the money was paid to his son, but he later changed his story.

The question that arise is: What will happen now that President Cyril Ramaphose is caught out lying ?

Expropriation without compensation is officially back on Parliament’s agenda : We are hungry, we want our land back’

Amending Section 25 of the Constitution is officially before Parliament again after the National Assembly passed a motion on Thursday to establish an ad hoc committee to draft an amendment to allow expropriation without compensation.

In the debate on the motion, the old fault lines between parties who supported amending the Constitution and those who did not, have emerged yet again. The DA, IFP, FF Plus and ACDP opposed the motion.

ANC chief whip Pemmy Majodina brought the motion, which noted the fifth Parliament adopted a report by the constitutional review committee (CRC) recommending the Constitution should be amended so section 25 makes “explicit that which is implicit in the Constitution, with regards to expropriation of land without compensation, as a legitimate option for land reform, so as to address the historic wrongs caused by the arbitrary dispossession of land, and in so doing ensure equitable access to land and further empower the m

ANC chief whip Jackson Mthembu has made an about-turn by announcing on Tuesday that parliament will begin the process of amending the constitution in this current term.

Mthembu was addressing the joint sitting of parliament debating President Cyril Ramaphosa’s state of the nation address.

“We are fast-tracking land reform by implementing our resolution on the expropriation of land without compensation. Parliament is already in the process of crafting a constitutional amendment to amend section 25 of the constitution to make it explicit that our constitution allows expropriation of land without compensation,” he said, opening the debate.

“An hour ago, Honourable Thoko Didiza was elected chair of the ad-hoc committee tasked with amending section 25 of the constitution. We congratulate her and wish the committee well as they embark on this historic process,” added Mthembu.
