“Herstel ons waterbronne of kry privaatinstellings om die werk gedoen te kry.” Dit is die boodskap wat TLU SA met ‘n nuwe veldtog oor water aan die ANC se Departement van Water en Sanitasie én die regering wil stuur.

Volgens die 2019 Water en Sanitasie Meesterplan was 56% van die 1,150 munisipale rioolaanlegte en 44% van die 962 watersuiweringsaanlegte, in swak of kritieke toestand en 11% heeltemal disfunksioneel. Die redes hiervoor is die verval van watersuiweringsaanlegte as gevolg van munisipale korrupsie, wanbestuur en onkundige personeel weens BSEB en kaderontplooing.

TLU SA is teleurgesteld in Ramaphosa en die ANC-regering se hantering van die situasie in Suid-Afrika en beskuldig ANC dat hulle net ‘n pleister plak op die groot gapende wond van ekonomiese verval. Afrikanerbond het in ‘n verklaring gesê dat Suid-Afrika nou ʼn bitter duur prys betaal vir die ANC se onvermoë om sy eie interne faksies in toom te hou, wyl VF-Plus die ANC se regering se versuiming om die polisie toe te rus en om wet in orde te onderhou ten sterkste kritiseer het.

TLU SA vind Bheki Cele se minagting van die hoogste hof in die land, deur sy versuiming om Zuma in hegtenis te neem, tekenend van die magsmisbruik wat in die ANC regering heers. Volgens TLU SA is dit die minister van polisie én nasionale polisiekommissaris Kehla Sithole, se mening dat hulle kan aan die konstitusionele hof voorsê of hulle skuldiges in hegtenis gaan neem of nie.

Die twee het die hof skriftelik in kennis gestel dat hulle Jacob Zuma nie in hegtenis sal neem totdat al sy hofaansoeke, wat na die vonnisoplegging gemaak is, aangehoor is nie.

Dit is duidelik dat deelnemers geen idee het van die implikasies van hierdie wet nie.
